Final Summer Musings

Sadly my Arizona vacation has come to an end. But it has seriously been the perfect way to wrap up the summer.

As a kid, summers meant being lazy, watching TV and clocking in as much sun/pool time as possible and that is exactly what I've been able to do on this trip. There has been plenty of vegging and relaxing and the only thing that would make it better would be if I had a nanny to watch Evelyn when I want to sleep in...so every morning.

And now I have to pack and endure another hour and a half flight with a baby who would rather be anywhere else.

But I'm more than excited about what I'm coming home to. It's no surprise that I'm not a fan of living underground, so I'm not so much looking forward to that, but ten days is far too long to be away from my husband and I'm so excited to see him!

I have it on good authority that he's cleaned the house (major plus!) but I'm afraid that he hasn't been eating anything for the past ten days so that makes me a tad apprehensive. Funny how he forgot how to cook for himself when he's had me taking care of him for the last four years.

The second most exciting thing I'm looking forward to (it may be the MOST exciting thing but don't tell Chris, he'll get sad) is that we finally FINALLY have approval from the city to start building our house!!!!

I am beyond thrilled! I won't have to live in that basement house much longer and I'll get my brand new top level that I can paint and decorate and live ABOVE GROUND!

NO MORE MOLE PEOPLE!!!
No more telling people that "we live in that basement house..you know the one that just looks like a roof sitting on the ground." I will be able to look out the window without climbing up on a chair. Evelyn will be able to look out the window without having to crawl up the stairs. I'll have a dishwasher so my kitchen won't always be messy. I. can. not. wait.

And you know what this means for you, my faithful readers? You'll get to see the whole remodel process here on my blog. I know, you're pumped.

So take a good long look now, cause it's not going to look like this much longer:
