The aquarium was a blast! It was a lot smaller than I expected, but it was definitely worth an hour out of our afternoon. The exhibits were a lot of fun and we saw a ton of beautiful fish and sea creatures.
If you're a student, be sure to have your ID with you because the student discount is the same as the Hawaii resident discount at $6 a pop. Making it completely affordable. But the regular price is only $9 so its not like it breaks the bank.
There isn't a whole lot of parking on the street and all the parking spots in the lot say '1 Hour Parking'. But do not fret. The aquarium is small and you can easily get through it in an hour. We took less than an hour and we went to some of the more interesting exhibits (jellyfish and sharks) several times.
When you first get there, they give you one of those little devices for a self guided tour. At each exhibit you press the number and listen to the little device and it gives you info on the exhibit. I think we maybe listened to ours once. There's signs to read at each of the exhibits and let's be honest, we're not really there to learn the interworkings of marine life, we just want to see pretty fish. But the tools to learn are there if you want them.
