Liebster Award (again)

Attention blog readers, your regular Writing Prompt Wednesday scheduling will be interrupted today. #sorrynotsorry Enjoy some fun facts about me and some great new blogs to follow!

Several months ago I got nominated for a liebster award and I just got nominated again by My  Little Sunshines! That's probably the best news ever! It's such a great way to find and share new blogs and get to know a little more about the smaller blogging community.

Here are the rules:

1. Post eleven facts about yourself
2. Answer the eleven questions provided by the person who nominated you, and then create an eleven-question set for the next group of nominees
3. Choose eleven people to nominate and link them in the post
4. Let your nominees know they've been tagged- and no tag-backs!
5. Nominate blogs under 200 followers (the goal is to promote small blogs )

Facts about me:

1. I've been to 6 countries, my husband has been to 7 but we've never travelled internationally together.
2. So I'm mildly (completely) obsessed with Gilmore Girls and whenever I find another show that I like, I find actors in it that I can connect back to Gilmore Girls. (i.e. Pretty Little Liars: Torrey Devitto (Melissa Hastings) was on One Tree Hill with Chad Michael Murray who plays Tristan in season 1 of Gilmore Girls. That's not weird, right?)
3. I went into journalism in college even though I hate the news. But I found that I love editing video.
4. I started writing a novel. I have one chapter finished...
5. We named our cat Oatmeal because the word for cat in Russian is amazingly close to the word for oatmeal.
6. I took 2 years of Russian. I've lost a lot of my speaking ability but I can understand pretty well.
7. When I was in elementary school I used to eat (and enjoy) mayonnaise sandwiches. Yup, just mayo and bread.
8. I once ate an entire block of cheese in one sitting. ("One time Jocelyn ate cheese for dinner")
9. I used to work for a party company and dressed up like a princess for birthday parties.
10. Someone once used this pick up line on me at a dance club, "Where're you from?" "Georgia." "You shake like you're from Georgia." "..." (It was lame but I still dated him.)
11. I made a really embarrassing music video with my little sister to Walk Like An Egyptian. Wanna see it? No.

Now for the questions:

1. What is your current occupation?
A stay at home momma. It's a really glamorous lifestyle.

2. What is your favorite book?
I don't think I have one favorite but I have a few that I've been meaning to reread: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Fight Club, and The Princess Bride.

3. Where would you most like to travel?
It was Ukraine...not so much anymore considering their current political state. Right now I think Sweden. It's where my ancestors are from. I'm a quarter Swedish.

4. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10?
In 5 years I'll probably have a couple more kids, maybe a business under my belt. In 10 I'll hopefully be done having kids, and have enough money to take them around the world.

5. What TV shows are you currently watching?
Get ready: Bones, Castle, New Girl, Modern Family, TVD, The Originals, PLL, Revenge, Scandal, Nashville, and since they're mostly over for the season I've been re-watching Buffy.

6. What is your dream date?
A gorgeous motorcycle ride in the fall so we can see all the changing leaves, a picnic, and somet surprising romantic gesture.

7. What did you study in college? Or if you haven't been, what would you like to?
Journalism.

8. What's your favorite type of food?
Italian.

9. What's your favorite vacation that you've been on?
Our (3 years later) honeymoon in Hawaii.

10. Are you a summer or winter person?
So Summer. Love love LOVE the heat.

11. Books or movies?
There's a time for both. But never at the same time.

Now my nominees:

Here are your questions:

1. What's the first childhood memory that comes to mind right now?
2. How many countries have you been to? Which is your favorite?
3. If you could be any age for the rest of your life, what would it be?
4. What's your favorite season?
5. Sweet or savory?
6. When you have free time, what do you do?
7. What is your ideal mode of expression (i.e. writing, dancing, singing, painting, etc.)?
8. What's your favorite thing to cook/bake?
9. Who is your favorite author?
10. If you've got some extra cash what do you buy first: clothes, jewelry, crafting supplies, or dessert?
11. What's your favorite flower?

There you have it! Put the link to your post in the comments below so I can read it!

    1. Yeah, I took it because my husband spoke it. He lived in Ukraine for 2 years. It's such a pretty language, especially because the way the word endings are, things rhyme really easily. I need to brush up on it.
