Week 21

You may have noticed a few changes to my blog. For instance, this is no longer on my baby blog. I have combined the two so that you only have to go to one place for your fill of Jocelyn, Christopher and BabyLang!!! Woot Woot! I hope your as excited as I am!

Oh yeah....I colored my hair!

How far along?  21 Weeks
Total weight gain? 11lbs
Maternity clothes? I haven't purchased any, but I love the ones that were loaned to me. So comfy!
Stretch Marks? No.
Best moment this week? Baby kicking me back **See below**
Miss anything? I'm starting to feel like I can't breath, mostly when I sleep. I really like breathing. I guess I miss that.
Movement? Yes! Lots of movement! **See below**
Food Cravings: I'm still pretty hooked on zebra cakes. Yum!
Anything making you sick or queasy? Not really.
Worst symptom: Indigestion! And the not breathing thing!
Labor signs: Not yet.
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time? I'd say pretty happy-ish.
Looking forward to: My Birth Boot Camp birthing classes

So I literally just realized that I'm 6 months along. I've just been paying so much attention to the weeks that I didn't notice the months. 6 months seems way closer to 9 months than 21 weeks seems to 40 weeks. Before I know it I'm going to be in my 3rd trimester! I am so excited I can't even handle it! I get to meet my little baby so soon!!!

Speaking of which, baby girl is the size of a pomegranate, and she almost weighs a pound! (Well sort of almost....almost 3/4 lb.) Her brain is developed to the point where she has wake and sleep cycles.

**Now about that kicking, the cutest thing happened. Up until this point I have been feeling what I know are baby kicks and movements but they feels more like bubbles. Or little nondescript taps. Well Sunday I felt a little tap and so I pushed back and guess what... The baby kicked again!!! Sometimes I forget that there is really something in there but that little moment let me really picture my little girl in there kicking her mommy for pushing on her! Bah!!!**

On a totally unrelated side note: I had a dream about our baby last night. I birthed her myself without any help and she was beautiful. She had big round, brown eyes and dark hair and a cute little round face. The chances of our baby actually looking like that are slim to none, but it was such a sweet dream. She was tiny and cuddly and I can't wait to actually meet her! I take the fact that I had her on my own, as my body's way of telling me that I can give birth to this baby without the assistance of medication.

I've had a lot of extra time on my hands lately so I've been doing a TON of research. Everything from doulas to cloth diapers to birthing classes to birthing options to types of strollers and carseats. Woo!

Anyway I (meaning after discussing things with my husband) have made some big decisions. First of all, we will be birthing at the Better Birth birthing Center in Orem.

This is my birthing suite!
We have our first prenatal appointment today.

Secondly we have chosen to do cloth diapers. I've done quite a bit of research so you are welcome to hit me with your criticism but we're very confident in our decision. Now considering we've never had a baby or dealt with cloth diapers before, our opinions could change, but until that happens, we've decided that cloth diapers are the way for us! We're using Gro-via. You can research them here.

Plus, they're so dang cute!!
Also, after much research and consideration, we've decided to take a Birth Boot Camp birthing class. I'm so excited! It's a 10 class course that covers all forms of natural birth from healthy eating and exercise to relaxation techniques to birthing positions to post partum. We take our first class this evening. We joined the classes a little late since we were in Hawaii when they started, so we missed the first 4. But thankfully we have the option to watch online versions of those classes. You can learn more about Birth Boot Camp here.

Well I think that's about it for this week. Go ahead and ask any of the questions you want about the above decisions we've made. I have a brain full of information I'd gladly share.
