Life has been a tad chaotic lately. I've made a resolve not to whine so much because I've been doing more than my fair share lately. So I'm going to try and make this more of an update on our chaotic life rather than whining about the chaos. Deal? Deal.
In case you missed our movie trailer announcement, I'm pregnant. Due in June. (More on the details to come.) I've been pretty sick but thankfully my morning sickness is starting to peter off. It's not gone, but it's on it's way.
But since I've been feeling so sick the house has gotten pretty gross. The kitchen is probably the worst because the dishes smell and I feel sick washing them, and we don't have a dishwasher, so dishes tend to just sit in the sink until Chris get around to doing them which is generally when we've run out of silverware.
When I do feel well enough to straighten up a room in the house or do some laundry, Evelyn takes my distraction as an opportunity to destroy every room that I am not in. So there might not be any clothes on the floor in my bedroom, but every toy Evelyn owns has been scattered around every floor/surface in the house. And she's pulled out the pots, pans, and tupperware that she can reach and sprinkled tiny pieces of toilet paper everywhere and emptied that snacks that were in the diaper bag onto the living room floor and proceeded to stomp on them to make sure the crumbs get good and ground into the carpet.
I have been defeated by a one year old.
In other news, Chris has begun working on the house again and plans to do that until the end of the year or so. Right now he's working on the wiring. So, big step.
Christmas decorations are up and I'm loving the feel of the holiday spirit it gives our little hovel. I'm pretty much done with Christmas shopping and wrapping. Presents are hidden (wrapped) behind the tree and Evelyn hasn't noticed them although she loves to touch the ornaments and kiss the ones with faces.
We're sticking around here for Christmas. It's been fun talking about what we want our family Christmas traditions to be. Also a little overwhelming. Has anyone mastered taking the commercialism out of Christmas and really focusing on giving and the birth of Christ? If so I'd love your pointers. We still haven't even decided whether we're going to do the Santa Clause thing. However, I will tell you right now, we are not, nor will we ever participate in Elf on the Shelf.
Sadly I didn't get my poop in a group in time to send out Christmas cards this year. I know being sick and pregnant and a mom doesn't sound like it would keep me super busy, but you'd be surprised. Maybe I can still post one on here. That kind of counts, right?
Lastly, I want to apologize for my tardiness in blog posts. I'm hoping to rectify that, but please cut me a little slack...you know with the sickness and whatnot. Turns out it was a lot easier to blog about being pregnant when I didn't have another kid to take care of. Who knew?!
Stay tuned...more to come, very soon.
